Welcome to 2009 and the 50th Anniversary of the Mighty Mini .
This year I am taking My 1978 Mini Clubman 1275 GT around the World for the Third time! to raise funds for Cancer Research
Just outside Salt Lake City two weeks ago!
Dear Sir/Madam/Friend,
My name is Duncan Mortimer and I own a unique 1978 Austin Mini Clubman 1275GT which is the only Mini to have been around the World.
I am high and dry in California at the moment having completed a third of my journey around the World and am now trying to secure another sponsor as I have been let down by a major sponsor to the tune of $50,000 which was to be used for the Cancer charity Drive around the World.
This year will be my Third time around the World in my Mini for Cancer Research and believe me it's not an easy task but I estimate I still need around £30,000 to complete the drive and although that sounds a lot of money it is out weighed by the total sum I raise around the World for each cancer research foundation in each of the country's I visit.
I would even donate my three times around the World Mini, on completion of the drive to anyone who can support the finances.
I'm sure theirs not a single person in this World of ours that doesn't know or have known someone who has had Cancer in one of its many forms.
One day Cancer will be a piece of history not a part of life.
Please help me to help others!
With Kind Regards
Duncan Mortimer

Don't short change the future in fear of the present
Cancer Research Needs Your Help
In 1996 and again in 1999 I successfully drove my 1978 Mini Clubman 1275GT around the World, raising funds and awareness for The Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
Pakistan to Iran a very long and dusty drive
The second drive was so successful that I even got a place in the Guinness book of World Records for the longest drive in a Mini (World Records).
I will be re building the entire car throughout the first quater of this year 2008 and have the Mini back on the road for May 2008 and start a promotional program throughout the year to promote The Non Standard Awards kindly sponsored by "Performance Direct Insurance" and my third cancer charity drive around the World in 2009, which will be for The Reuben Foundation Children’s Cancer Centre and The Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, Cancer Research UK and Help For Heroes Fund.
Another reason for this drive will be to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Mini, which is also in 2009.
